Epson India, part of the Japanese major Seiko Epson, introduced their plans for the upcoming years, mainly focusing on promoting the InkTank technology to customers within the country. InkTank is being used in their EcoTank printing machines, and it represents a cost-effective and environment-friendly alternative to the current leaders on the market, which are mainly inefficient laser printers and expensive toner cartridges.

Monochrome EcoTank printers should be the solution

The plan, as outlined by Epson India, is to introduce their Monochrome EcoTank printers to corporate customers. As of now the company has 14 models ready to ship, and once they start with their marketing campaigns, their Senior General Manager hopes to pump up the current 8 percent of market share up to 12 percent.

“The new Epson Monochrome EcoTank printers are ideal for organisations that are concerned about their printing costs, efficiency and the environment. They have been designed keeping in mind the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which we actively support,”said Siva Kumar, Senior General Manager, InkJet Printers, Epson India.

Regarding their points, the above mentioned 14 EcoTank printers are “Heat-Free”, unlike the mono laser printers that have been on the market for decades, which will in return draw less power and generate less e-waste. One good comparison would be that the traditional mono-laser printer can use up to 250 watts during peak performance, while an EcoTank device wouldn’t go above 12 watts.

Additionally, cheaper ink will result in lowered total cost of ownership through the years, a point which corporation customers tend to appreciate, especially when you need to print several hundred pages per day, through several years.

“We believe that in three years we will have 25 percent of the total printer market. ” said N Sambamoorthy, President and CEO, Epson India.
